2023 Cadillac XT6 Has One Big Advantage
The Cadillac XT6 goes from a midpack player to one of the most interesting models in its class with the addition of Super Cruise hands-free highway assist.
The Cadillac XT6 originally debuted in late 2019 as a replacement for the automaker's SRX three-row midsize luxury SUV.
The XT6 hasn't changed much for the 2023 model year, but the addition of Cadillac's best driver-aid technology brings the SUV into the spotlight.
The XT6 is a fairly spacious at 198.8 inches bumper to bumper, though its standard foldable third row is best reserved for small children.
The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, but you should probably skip it in favor of the more powerful (and more cost-effective) V6.
The brightest feather in the 2023 XT6's cap is the addition of Cadillac Super Cruise hands-free highway driver-assistance tech.
Optional on Premium Luxury and Sport models, Super Cruise can take over steering, acceleration and braking duties on supported highways and interstates under the driver's supervision.
Sadly, this isn't the latest generation of Super Cruise 2.0 that's found on the Escalade and Chevy Silverado, but it's still a huge advantage over the rest of this class.
The rest of the XT6 driving experience is unchanged since our last outing. It's a fine luxury SUV, but not exactly the best-in-class.
