Capcom has enjoyed consistent fiscal growth and profits over the course of the last few years, and it seems like the company is continuing to gather momentum on that front. In its latest quarterly fiscal report, Capcom has said that it is projecting more unit sales for gaming software in the current fiscal year (which ends on March 31) than any other fiscal year in the company’s history.

As of December 31, 2022, Capcom has seen 29.1 million units of cumulative game sales in the ongoing fiscal year, and by the end of March, it is expecting that number to rise to 40 million units.

As of the end of December, in the current tracking period, Capcom has sold 4.95 million units of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, 2.75 million units of Monster Hunter Rise, and 1.5 million units of Resident Evil 2. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5 has sold 1.45 million units, Resident Evil 3 has sold 1.35 million units, and both Street Fighter 5 and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne have sold 750,000 units.

Capcom is expecting to see continued sales for legacy titles like the aforementioned ones. Meanwhile, with the Resident Evil 4 remake launching in the final days of March, the company is expecting it to provide a final significant boost in sales for the current fiscal year as well.

Beyond March, Capcom has several other major releases planned for 2023 that may contribute to continued success, including the likes of Exoprimal and Street Fighter 6Pragmata is also supposedly due out this year, but the company has said little to nothing about the game since announcing it, so it remains to be seen whether we’ll see it anytime soon.
