More than milk

Summary:

Cassian wants to cook breakfast for Jyn after spending the night in her place for the first time, but the fridge is empty. Part of my Michelin/Spy AU and written for Domaystic 2022 and the prompt for day 7-Nothing in the fridge.

Work Text:

“There’s nothing in your fridge,” Cassian sounded confused from her kitchen. Jyn sighed and stretched before sitting up and pulling on the t-shirt he’d left on the floor, “There’s milk.”

“Milk doesn’t count.”

“Of course it does, if you have milk then you can have tea or coffee which is all you need,” All she needed, she could buy other stuff.

Cassian leaned on the side of her bedroom door looking far too pretty in the morning light which was highlighting the beautiful shades of amber and brown in his hair, “But breakfast and lunch, meals require more than milk.”

“I’m not a chef like you and I’m not here that much,” She’d been in this apartment the longest she’d been anywhere in years.

“Then I’m getting you basics so I can cook for you,” He sank down next to her and ran his hand down her shoulder.

“Or I could come over to your place which has everything and your kitchen.”

“But this is your place,” The sincerity in his voice touched her, it mattered to him that she had a home of her own. Jyn shifted to lean on him, she liked his morning warmth and having him in her bed, then traced her hand down to follow the lines of his molcajete tattoo.

“It is and I have a good knife collection.”

“Different sort of knife,” He said with a sigh that she loved, this was becoming one of their little arguments.

“You can still use them in cooking,” A knife was a knife.

Cassian laughed and kissed her before saying, “We’ll go out for breakfast, but next time I’m making you breakfast.”

“Deal,” Then she kissed him again, breakfast might be brunch since she had Cassian in her bed.
