Archbishop Blames Climate Change For Illegal Immigrants

The Archbishop of Canterbury has torn shreds out of the Illegal Immigration Bill, labelling it "isolationist, morally unacceptable and politically impractical", with "too many problems" to highlight in one speech.

Justin Welby attacked Rishi Sunak’s plan to ‘stop the boats’, which is facing its second major Parliamentary hurdle, with peers in the House of Lords scrutinising the controversial proposal.

"This bill has no sense at all of the long term and the global nature of the challenge that the world faces," the religious leader said.

"It ignores the reality that global migration must be engaged with at source as well as in the Channel as if we as a country were unrelated to the rest of the world."

The archbishop added the Bill does not address issues that are causing mass migration, including wars and climate change, saying it is "isolationist, it is morally unacceptable and politically impractical" to leave those problems to poorer countries.

It is a sin to lie, so maybe the Archbishop would care to explain just how many migrants are coming here because of climate change, which countries they are coming from, and provide the data to prove it.

Otherwise people might rightly think you are talking through that pointy hat of yours!

They might also suggest that you are so woefully out of touch with the real world that you do not belong in your job.

I think he ought to be more concerned about active participation in the denomination he heads up. It doesn’t look pretty. https://www.statista.com/statistics/369080/church-of-england-attendance-by-service-uk/
And the average of attendees keeps increasing suggesting there may not be a Church of England in 30 years.

How much more woke can this excuse for a clergyman get. Global warming has f… all to do with this Jihad travelling to invade UK.

Instead of talking bollocks he might have considered that the money wasted on bringing Sudanese that happen to have a British passport but no command of english here – seems Canada has seen the same issue – food aid could have been delivered to Chad where they are struggling with refugees. Welby could also consider that the UK is reducing aid money spent overseas to cover the cost of all the illegals coming here.

It has nothing to do with logic, reason or how best to help actual people in real need. For some reason illegal immigrants set off Progressives in a way that makes no sense. It is a weird, wholly emotional response that seems quite childish, like a kid watching a Disney film.

“Progressives” don’t need no damn logic, reason and common sense, P44!

They rely on “emotional intelligence”, “lived experience” and other claptrap.

Give the man half a chance! Isn’t everything down to the climate change scam? Maybe the Most Reverend Gentleman could spend his time better keeping an eye on the speed limit signs?

Whatever the reason, it is not “climate change”

Not sure about Albania but obviously no CC in Britain otherwise they wouldn’t come here.

He is a pretty useless AofC. During covid, he locked up the churches and went to south of France for a year of sabbatical leave, stress related. He has just upset 60 % of the C of E bishops mostly in Africa, over his LGBTQ relaxation to offer blessings in church. For the Coronation he was likened to the “speaking clock” for his delivery of the service, surely he could have learnt it off by heart rather than have to have an assistant holding a crib and pointing out what to say.
His views on illegal immigration are just supporting the criminals and smuggling gangs, I would have though he would be onboard on stopping anything illegal.

I don,t like him but it is normal to have the assistance of the written words in a service in a church or abbey. He is the cause of division in the Anglican Church worldwide. Archbishops of Canterbury have often been troublesome historically . It was a political appointment then, and is probably the same now. The House of Lords is not democratic. To the Tower with him appears to be the sentiment worldwide

When Lambeth Palace gardens are covered in tents, portaloos and field kitchens and all rooms similarly occupied with migrants then people might listen.

Welby was late joiner to the Church, he was an Oil Executive for 13 years before turning to the church, Clearly, he “saw the light” in both the church and fossil fuels.
How a latecomer claimed the top job so quickly is strange to say the least, was there a dearth of quality candidates or did Welby have friends in ‘high places’?

‘The archbishop added the Bill does not address issues that are causing mass migration’

England’s prosperity must be destroyed, else people will migrate there. It’s like a law of thermodynamics, heat flowing to a cooler body, poorer people moving to where there is more opportunity.

‘it is “isolationist, it is morally unacceptable and politically impractical” to leave those problems to poorer countries.’

Oh, yeah, what you need is Return of the Empire, the return to colonialism to fix them poorer countries.

BTW, it is morally unacceptable not to protect your people. It’s what separates us from the animals.

“Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby fined £510 for speeding”

    https://news.sky.com/story/archbishop-of-canterbury-justin-welby-fined-510-for-speeding-12879052

Most times, the penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and 3 points.

So what had Welby done to upset the magistrates so much they threw the book at him?

What changed? It always used to be 20 or 30 over the posted limit before “points” happened.
Whatever you think of the man, travelling at LESS than thirty miles an hour in a built-up area should not generate “speeding” prosecutions in the first place.

        I agree.
But most of the 20 MPH limits I’ve come across are in the vicinity of schools and are only active at certain times of day, which is sensible, especially if you have ever had to pick up/drop off kids at school, it can get like the Monaco GP!
Without knowing more details of the time and place of the offence we can’t know.

Catweazle, some boroughs in Lovdon are now entirely 20mph – Hammersmith & Fulham is 20mph on main roads. It’s absurd.

We need to build a big wall round the M25 and dam the Thames, P44.

        That’ll fix it.

OK…let’s assume the cleric is right and that CC is forcing people to move north (to cooler places) from their over-heating lands. That being the case, and assuming that climate change is a global phenomenon, one has to assume that many other continentals would be moving to our northerly country – and that we Brits would be moving to Scotland. And Canterbury would be in Reykjavik.

Yes it’s weird that people more south of Albania – Greece say – aren’t moving to the UK? And that Scots are moving south. And people are moving from northern states to Arizona. And from the UK to Spain and France. Its almost as if where its climate, people are moving to where its warmer.

The Archbishop announces he – and the church he represents – have no duty to YOU. They are not there to serve you. Their allegiance is to people of other countries, and SURELY different religions (how many Anglicans in Africa?).

Only chumps continue to support the Church. They have rejected you.

A recent conference in Kigali showed many Anglican bishops who condemned Canterbury. See it on Youtube.

Belief in human cause of climate change comes naturally to the Archbishop. For his job he must believe in the supernatural.
When Charles the 2nd was on the throne in 1661 he ordered a fasting day and prayers led the the Bishop of St David’s because the weather had been particularly unseasonably warm for the last few winters.
Peps records in his diary that the winter had been like summer and all men believed this threatened a plague. However Pepys stayed at home and had a fine meal.
Nothing has changed in the intervening 400 years.

Too many problems to tell us about? Hmm.

I always remember something my first boss told me about a presentation I had written. If you have one indisputable argument that proves your point, that’s all you need. If you have two, great. So Welby, make your 1-2 indisputable arguments. You don’t need to prove its wrong twenty times, just once.
