Uruguay records coldest, driest June in decades

I wonder why the BBC Climate Check did not mention this!
Uruguay’s Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) reported Monday that this year’s was the coldest June in the last 41 years “with a countrywide anomaly of -2.3°C.”
“In average terms and on a countrywide scale, June 2022 registered the lowest anomalies, ranking as the coldest month of the 1981-2022 period,” the agency indicated.
“The entire territory presented temperatures well below normal, with more anomalous values towards the northwest of the country. The range of anomalies was between -3.2°C in Salto and -1.4°C in Rocha,” Inumet pointed out.

This cold weather is clearly visible on the satellite data. Judging from the UAH map, the cold extends well beyond Uruguay, as far as South America is concerned:

And Australia is seeing lots of new cold records as well but no doubt the BOM will correct that when it thinks nobody is looking.
Not according to the BOM. It’s all about ClimateChange© causing floods (“unprecedented” of course) so they just “homogenise” the incovenient recorrect data from Station A with 1 or 2 or more other stations. It started AFAIK Rutherglen (near Holbrook) being homogenised with Griffith, about 260 km. away, then they got ambitious, with Darwin being homogenised with places 1200 km. away in different climate zones. Then instead of A + B, it was (A + X) + (B + J) + (C + W). Then after W had been homogenised with E, P & T, and J with D, M & R, all on the computer, no-one knew what the figures meant but the warming trend was evident (as they wanted).

And a crowd survey of the 800+ BOM sites found that 48% did not meet BOM’s requirements. Odd, that as BOM is supposed to be maintaining them.
Well unless there’s a late report, we still haven’t reached 90F so far this heatwave in the UK. Highest I’ve seen so far today is Jersey airport at 32.0C
The BBC is not interested in accurate, objective reporting, balance or impartiality. It is a propaganda outfit dedicated to promoting the “climate scare” and the sooner it is sold off or closed down the better
Spot on. BBC is in full Goebels-mode. My local news kept stressing the need for under-tens to skao on loads of sunscreen – as if adult parents would not know. Further to the indoctrination – my seven-year-old grandson has started saying ‘Haitch’!!!
As far as I am aware, temperature and UV exposure are unrelated? There’s no need for extra sunscreen just because it’s hotter. And of course you don’t need “loads” of sunscreen. Factor 30 means 30 times your non-burning time is non-burning. So if your non-burning time is 30 minutes, factor 30 gives you six hours in the sun.
As usual, what the BBC assumes to be true is junk science and junk politics.
Sun exposure in the USA has declined by 95% since 1935 while diagnoses* of melanoma have risen by 3,000%
Regular non-burning exposure of the whole body to sun-shine (including the infra-red**) is good for almost all people. If you insist on living, working, and playing in a gloomy cave, the live-long day, at least take anough Vitamin D to keep your blood level above 75 nanograms per millilitre.
* Rising in line with the increased number of dermatalogists!
** That is why huddling round an open fire at night appeals to all our instincts.
Don’t blame me. After years of hoping that it would remember its duty for truthful and complete reporting we have given up. If you are still paying you are complicit. Cancel your Beeb tax. Feel clean.

Do check out Melanie Phillips scam-cracking piece in The Times today. Likens the current fraud to Lysenkoism, mentions the 7 year pause, castigates Net Zero for hiking prices etc, could have written it myself.
Australia frequently gets mentioned for its hot weather.
If only the BBC had a competent Enviro Analyst to report events such as:
“On 8 and 12 July Kununurra (lat. 15S) in Western Australia dropped to +6.0C, its lowest temperature since 1965.”
Reported here that the unprecedented heatwave forecast for central Europe was an arithmetical error and the 45°C will be nearer 30°
Are our lot of idiots using the same model inputs for next week?
Like all forecasts they change. The mid 40s will still happen on current projections but slightly different area/timing/duration.
BBC forecast has raised again to a UK record of 38C early next week.
weather-forecast is going all out for a high of 99F on Tuesday to follow a 91 for Monday. Wunderground’s headline figures are 89 and 96 but their hourly figures are 88 and 94. I have found that following the red temperature graph on the 10 day forecast gives you the lower figure – doesn’t make a lot of sense as to why they differ.
Regardless, the most likely forecast changes every time the models run, there’s little doubt it will be exceptionally hot, just a case of which side of the record it turns out.
We now get reports of ‘climate-hit’ regions of the world, implying it’s all due to human activities. When will this idiocy end?

Especially unpalatable considering the effort they used to go to to distinguish between weather and climate.
Just got my copy of Dr. Patrick Moore’s “Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom”. He has a great writing style and I even giggled my way through his Introduction. Now that is a rare book. I had to jump ahead for a preview of Chapter VII: “Genetically Modified Foods Contain Something Harmful. What is It?”
I have been asking the same thing since the handwringing over it began. Now I admit, I am no geneticist and never will be nor want to be. However, the premise seemed questionable. Ask it over your next perfectly steamed, dripping w/ salt and peppered butter ear of sweet corn. It began as some little grass in South America which bears little resemblance to that succulent ear we now chomp with delight.
Moore takes on the very gloom and doom scenarios we see posted here and debunked for lack of any cogent reason on the part of the hand-wringers.
All Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change. 5 way discussion. Worth a look to crunch the claims made.

Spoiler alert: we’re dooooooomed!
Another day passes and the current heatwave still hasn’t reached 90F. 1976 had 15 consecutive days reach 90F or more.
Saw this on South Today, exercise bikes at recharging station, clueless participant was amazed she had added 15 watt hours to her presumably 50 kilo watt hour + car. Pointless gimmick.
