RESULTS (EIU | UTM)
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball claimed its first conference victory of the season in a split of matches Saturday at OVC Weekend No. 1 at Chattanooga. The Eagles topped Eastern Illinois 4-1 before falling to UT Martin 5-0.
MSU sits at 5-5 overall now and 1-3 in the OVC.
The Eagles won at Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 5 to best the Panthers.
Irene Wogenstahl and
Bella Marita won a straight setter (22-20, 21-16) at No. 1. On court two,
Sydney Wyman and
Peighton Isley outlasted their foes 24-22, 18-21, 15-13.
At No. 3,
M.E. Hargan and
Shea Hefner returned to the win colum after absorbing their first two losses Friday. They won 21-8, 21-16. At No. 5,
Amelia Nott and
Landyn Snowden collected their first pairs win, capturing a marathon 23-21, 16-21, 16-14.
The Skyhawks unfortunately got the best of all five Eagle pairs, winning each match in straight sets.
MSU continues conference play on Friday and Saturday this week, at Tennessee Tech.
