Summer Solstice Evening: Opening 5 p.m. last admission 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.  Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is hosting a Summer Solstice Evening; visitors are invited to stroll the boardwalk, talk to Boardwalk Naturalists, and see life in the swamp as the sun sets. $8 for adults, $3 for youth, free for children 5 and younger, U.S. military/veterans (with ID) and Friends of Corkscrew members. Call for entries: Naples Art is seeking artists/designers submissions of original, creative “wearable art” concepts for the sixth Annual “Scene to Be Scene” Runway Art Show on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023. ."Connections: Art in Flight": June 9 through the beginning of June, 2023. Southwestern Florida International Airport, 11000 Terminal Access Road, Fort Myers.  Works from artists around the state of Florida depicting the theme were chosen for the yearlong exhibit, which includes three from Southwest Florida: Barbara Sykes, Garry Wheeler and Scott Brown. The exhbition is in public areas around the terminal. 

Artists' reception: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 15. Coco Art Gallery in Coastland Center, 1900 U.S. 41 N., Naples. The Art Council of Southwest Florida opened its second Coco Art Gallery, located in the Coastland Center Mall near Macy’s in Naples, and is offering customers to meet the local artists who are responsible for the range of artwork in the gallery.

Fiber Arts Now: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily (8 a.m. members) through June 26. Kapnick Hall, Naples Botanical Garden, 4820 Bayshore Drive, Naples. Jon Zoler has one of the biggest collections of hood ornaments in the world, and among them are rare glass hood ornaments that are in an exhibition at Revs Institute in Naples, Fla.

An American flamingo hangs out with a flock of American white pelicans in the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in the 10,000 Islands on Friday, Jan.14, 2022. "Rediscover Rookery Bay”: The attraction at 300 Tower Road in Naples features aquariums, a touch tank with marine critters, natural history exhibits, art gallery, gift shop, butterfly garden, picnic areas and walking trails. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Admission of $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12 benefits the Friends of Rookery Bay, a nonprofit that supports the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Guests may apply their admission fee toward Friends of Rookery Bay membership on the day of their visit. Active and retired military personnel and family members are free year-round, as are guests on kayak and boat ecotours booked through Friends of Rookery Bay. Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum: Open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, at 3075 Sanibel Captiva Road, Sanibel. New exhibit: Beyond Shells: The Mysterious World of Mollusks. The exhibit consists of 11 aquariums home to giant clams, gastropods and a Giant Pacific Octopus. Admission is $23.95 for adults (18 and older), $21.95 for seniors, $14.95 youth (12 to 17) and students with their ID, $8.95 for children (5 to 11) and free to children younger than 5, and also active military.
