Graphic Design Students Assist Local Entrepreneurs
RALEIGH, N.C. (April 19, 20023) – Students in Wake Tech's Advertising and Graphic Design program got real-world experience, assisting local small-business owners by designing new brands for their companies.
All three businesses involved were graduates of the LaunchWakeCounty program, sponsored by Wake Tech's Entrepreneurship and Small Business Center:
- Consider Jennifer, which supports parents with special-needs children
- Danelgo, a video production company
- Janice Collier Designs, a children's clothing company
Second-year graphic design students divided into teams to work with each business owner on a rebranding project. They considered the target audience for each company, their unique selling points and visual inspiration in designing new logos and taglines. Each of the business owners took away a new brand identity, while students gained valuable experience to take with them in their careers.
