Turning the Page

I have a new blog, for my new book. Come visit Thank You, Truckers! and sign up.

I’m working on a new book, for which there’s now a dedicated blog hosted by Substack, a platform adamant about free speech.

Thank You, Truckers! is online here. I’ve written a few posts so far. You can read them in the order they appeared by starting at the bottom of the Archive page and moving upward.

The plan is to publish frequent posts there during the coming months, with the occasional post here until the book is complete. Substack is designed around the newsletter model – readers ‘subscribe’ and receive posts via email. Built-in subscription plans encourage readers to financially support writers.

To be clear: all posts at Thank You, Truckers! will always be free to read. When you sign up (subscribe), you’ll be invited to select one of four options – the last of which is free.

By way of introduction to my new material:

If you’re interested in hearing about the role Elon Musk’s satellite-based Internet service played during the Ottawa trucker protest, click here.

If you want to understand the powerful emotional response of many Canadians, who’d felt desolate and alone prior to the convoy, watch the 4-minute speech here.

If you’d like to hear about the elderly war veterans who saluted the truckers at the side of the highway, click here.

If you want to know what one hockey fan who traveled to Ottawa experienced, compared to what the media reported, read the comment from a reader here.

Yes, Thank You, Truckers! does, indeed, have a comment section. But there’s a catch. Only paying subscribers ($5 CDN per month) can participate. It turns out that whenever it costs a bit to take part in online forums, the spam and the trolls disappear. Wheat is sorted from chaff, and the quality of discussion rises considerably.

If you’d like to participate in the Thank You, Truckers! discussion but can’t manage a paid subscription, drop me an email. I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

Happy Easter! Here’s to new beginnings and fresh growth :-)
