Week 3 is in the books, and we had another crazy NFL week! So how did your teams do? I’ll be here each week to break down wide receiver and cornerback matchups. This week we’ll look ahead to Week 4 in the NFL. So, let’s get to it!

Last Week’s Picks

If you had Devonta Smith, you were a happy camper. As the weeks have progressed, so has Smith. He was a dud in Week 1, but Smith has taken giant leaps in the following two weeks. Smith more than doubled his Week 2 80 yards to 169 in Week 3 and did get in the end zone. Smith had 12 targets and secured eight of them for 21 yards per catch.

What does Week 4 hold for Smith? It looks like Smith will be lining up across from Tyson Cambell. Cambell has improved through three weeks but has given up two touchdowns so far. I think, once again, Smith wins this matchup and has another good week.

JuJu Smith-Schuster was the Chiefs’ leader in receiving yards with 89, which is his season best. He saw eight targets come his way and caught five. However, it was Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Travis Kelce who saw the end zone. While it was a good game for him, I was hoping it would be better for your fantasy team.

Smith-Schuster will be going against Antoine Winfield. Last week, Winfield let four of five targets get past him. The previous two weeks Winfield was only letting 50% of his targets get caught. This week could be interesting as the Chiefs and Bucs met last year in the Super Bowl. The Bucs’ defense has only given up a total of 25 points in the first three games. I’m not expecting a huge game from Smith-Schuster this week, but as Mahomes’ No. 2 target, he will get a fair share of targets.

What Tee Higgins did Thursday night was what I thought he would do in Week 3. Higgins had five receptions for 93 yards; however, going against D.J. Reed, there were only four targets Reed’s way, and only two were caught. That’s not a lot to work with. While it wasn’t a terrible week, I hoped he would see the end zone. Week 4 was stellar for Higgins. He had one touchdown and 124 yards against the Dolphins.

Looking Ahead to Week 4

Amari Cooper is an excellent option this week, going against A.J. Terrell. Terrell has already given up five touchdowns on the year. Terrell saw 12 targets in Week 3. Cooper is becoming Brissett’s favorite receiver. Cooper has seen 21 targets in the last two weeks and caught 16 of them. In each game, he had 101 yards and a touchdown. I really like this matchup this week.

I think this is a pretty obvious choice. Mike Evans is coming off a one-game suspension. The Buccaneers struggled without him last week. In the first two weeks, Evans had 132 yards and one touchdown. There are few options for Tom Brady right now, and Evans has proven he can get the job done against the Chiefs. In two games against them, he has 155 yards and two touchdowns. Evans will be going against Rashod Fenton, who is letting 87% of his targets get caught, and do not think Brady doesn’t know that. Evans will be coming out with a chip on his shoulder, and this is the Sunday night game. We know Brady and Evans can create magic on the field, and we should see a good dose of that Sunday night.

CeeDee Lamb without Dak is doing pretty good with Rush. Lamb is going against Kendall Fuller, and the Commanders’ defense is not looking good so far, giving up close to 30 points a game. Lamb is seeing over 10 targets per game. Fuller saw 10 targets last week, allowing seven catches and gave up 135 yards. Lamb had his best week last week with 12 targets catching eight of them for 87 yards and an appearance in the end zone. He is one of my favorite players this week.
