The City of Galesburg is applying for the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s Housing Rehabilitation and Accessibility Grant but first they need some info from citizens. The grant focuses on housing rehabilitation, roofing replacement, and accessibility issues and the city wants to hear from those that experience or deal with these issues. They’re hoping for a range of residents and stakeholders to attend but particular those from a few select groups. Those with experiences or opinions on accessibility issues for the elderly and those with disabilities should attend. Another group that should consider attending- those that represent local agencies who serve individuals are welcome to attend and provide their input as well. The meeting will allow residents to both voice their opinion and fill out an anonymous questionnare. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers at City Hall, at 55 West Tompkins Street, on August 29 at 5:00 p.m.
