How Verstappen and Red Bull claimed two extra prizes in Hungary

As well as claiming a P1 and P5 from 10th and 11th on the grid at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Red Bull also took home some other awards from the race.

The Hungarian Grand Prix proved to be a highly successful day for Red Bull, who not only took a somewhat unexpected victory but also came away with some additional prizes. Max Verstappen started the race from P10 after a technical issue in Saturday's qualifying, with Sergio Perez just behind in P11. However, both drivers worked their way forwards in Sunday's race. Verstappen was particularly resurgent and went on to clinch his eighth win of the season, further extending his lead in the World Championship standings. As such, the Dutchman was awarded F1's Driver of the Day accolade as voted for by fans, having earned 34 per cent of the vote. His nearest competitor was Lewis Hamilton, who scored 16 per cent.

Red Bull beat the competition in the pit lane

Another area where Red Bull scooped the top prize was in the pit lane. Sergio Perez's stop was not only the quickest in the race, but also proved to be the fastest of the season so far, meaning that it is the quickest stop yet with 18-inch tyres. The Red Bull pit crew sent Perez on his way in just 2.19 seconds, putting them at the top of the leaderboard in the pit-stop classification. Verstappen's stop, meanwhile, was similarly fast and clocked in as the third fastest of the day at 2.33 seconds. Watch the quickest pit-stops in Hungary below!
