Generation was one of the four awardees to be funded to help tackle youth unemployment through green and digital skills bootcamps. New Tech & Green Upskilling non-profit for Unemployed Job Creation

Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities Joe O’Brien said that “the four pioneering organisations announced today have been awarded to address the serious problem of youth unemployment in our communities based on impactful employment programmes based on upskilling for the green and digital economies,” and “by working with Rethink Ireland we are enabled to
support these non-profit organisations as part of the solution.”

About Generation more broadly

Generation’s vision is to achieve a meaningful career and sustained well-being for every person. Generation supports underprivileged groups (unemployed and underemployed). In Ireland, through our unique 9-12 week upskilling bootcamp programmes, adults of all ages—whether unemployed, underemployed, or needing to learn new skills—can connect to the training, support, and jobs to change their path in life. Generation Ireland as a non-profit and registered Irish Charity works in partnership with Government Departments, Semi State Bodies, Multinational and Irish Funders, as well as the non- profit and charitable sector to deliver this economic and social impact for Ireland.

Generation Ireland aims to be part of the solution to achieve the objectives of the Government’s
Ireland’s National Skills Strategy 2025 – Ireland's Future, and cross Europe, we are particularly engaged this year because of the European Year of Skills. Crucially Generation trains and places these upskilled candidates in the critical skills gaps that both the tech and green sector employers are looking for, i.e. where there is clear unmet demand for entry level talent. At the same time, Generation is creating deep and long-lasting social impact for society by supporting underrepresented groups into new life-
changing careers.

Our mission is to transform education to employment systems to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Our model is innovative and unique to the Irish market. Through our programme adults of all ages—whether unemployed, underemployed, or needing to learn new skills—can connect to the training, support, and jobs to change their path.

We solve a wide range of employer challenges—skilled talent shortages, lackluster on-the-job performance, reskilling needs, and higher turnover in important roles—with our unique approach and our determined graduates.

It has been an incredible feat to achieve, and we aim to continue to grow to support up to 1,000 learners a year as we grow and scale over the coming five years.
