One of the most anticipated events at RSA Conference is the Innovation Sandbox competition, where 10 of the most promising new companies vie for the title of "Most Innovative" company. Some of the recent winners include BigID (2018), which recently hit a valuation of $1.25 billion; Axonius (2019), whose "unsexy" asset management tool wowed the judges; Securiti.ai (2020) and its AI-powered PrivacyOps platform' and Apiiro (2021), whose Dependency Combobulator helps slam backdoors.
"For 17 years, cybersecurity's boldest new innovators have competed in the RSAC Innovation Sandbox Contest to put the spotlight on their potentially game-changing ideas," the RSA Conference website states. "This year, 10 finalists will have three minutes to make their pitch to a panel of judges."
Those judges are Dorit Dor, chief product officer of Check Point Software; Niloofar Razi Howe, senior operating partner at Energy Impact Partners; Paul Kocher, independent researcher and founder of Cryptography Research; Shlomo Kramer, co-founder and CEO of Cato Networks; and Christopher Young, executive VP of business development, strategy, and ventures at Microsoft.
Unlike 2021's competition, where all of the finalists focused on identity-based solutions, this year's list of finalists tackle various vital security concerns, such as permissions management, zero trust, software supply chain vulnerability, and data governance. In alphabetical order, here are the finalists.
Judges will name the "Most Innovative" startup at RSA conference on Monday, June 6, at about 3 p.m. Pacific time. Dark Reading will be there.
