New Smoothie bar coming to Franklin St.
Blenderz Smoothie and Yogurt Bar will be opening a second location on Franklin Street by the end of December. The shop specializes in fruit and protein smoothies with optional supplements and add-ins from muscle builders to vitamins and fiber. Also on the menu are frozen yogurt with toppings, acai bowls, yogurt parfaits and organic oatmeal.
Blenderz is at 4301 N. First Ave.; 812-401-2626. The new location will be at 2110 W. Franklin St.
Limited release double Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout available for Christmas
Dark Dimitri is a special limited-release beer you’ll want to watch for at local Liquor Locker stores. It’s a Russian Imperial Stout with vanilla brewed by Damsel Brew Pub, double Bourbon barrel aged--first in a Green River Distilling barrel from Owensboro, then finished in the Liquor Locker’s own private selection George Remus barrel--and bottled at Damsel. Only 300 bottles are available.
This beer will only become better with age, and brewer John Mills reports he has some similar beers that are magnificent at 14 years old.
Damsel’s Katya, available at the brewery, is a single Bourbon barrel aged Stout without vanilla… this year, rather than a Russian Imperial Stout, it is dubbed a Ukranian Anti-Imperial Stout. Both would make fantastic gifts that could be saved to enjoy for Christmases to come.

Hanukkah celebration at downtown brewery
The Haynie’s Corner Brewing Co. will have a Hanukkah celebration on Monday, Dec. 19, from 5-10 p.m. They've got driedels and gelt, a liquor bottle menorah, and bartenders Drew Maurer and Gavin Hosack from 2nd Language. Take one night only to celebrate Hanukka during the brewery's last Merry and Bright Holiday Extravaganza pop up.

Evansville bar and grill to be open Christmas day with special menu
The Highland Inn will be open on Christmas day from Noon until whenever they decide to close. Reservations recommended. The special menu will feature smoked pork loin or ham, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, dressing, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, rolls and assorted desserts.

New holiday specials at Henderson eatery
Hometown Roots has announced a new holiday specials menu that will run through Dec. 23. It includes a festive spinach salad with apples, pecans, cranberries, goat cheese and pork belly croutons with hot bacon and honey mustard dressings, a pesto burger, stuffed chicken breast, cranberry cornbread cake, winter sprout slaw and the Christmas on 2nd & Main cocktail with citrus, elderflower and white cranberry juice with Tito’s vodka.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at downtown restaurant
The Riverwalk Restaurant will be hosting an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on Thursday, Dec. 22. Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and enjoy live music with Bob Minnette and Riverwalk's good food. Winner of the Ugliest Sweater award will receive a $25 gift card.
