As you approach your Fantasy Football playoffs (which are most likely 1-2 weeks away), it’s crunch time. Now are the times when roster decisions can make or break your season.
Don’t worry. I got your back. Here are my Week 13 Fantasy Football Starts and Sits:
QB Start: Trevor Lawrence @ Lions
We saw an absolute masterclass from Trevor Lawrence in Week 12 against the Ravens. A solid overall game that was capped with a game-winning touchdown drive showed that the Jaguars are in good hands going forward with Doug Pederson. This week, Jacksonville gets a game to continue attacking defenses through the air against the Lions. Detroit is allowing the most points to opposing quarterbacks, and this is a prime matchup for Lawrence. I’m starting him in Week 13.
QB Sit: Russell Wilson @ Ravens
For whatever reason, Broncos Country is not riding. It could be their coach, it could be their quarterback, or it could be a mix of both. Either way, Denver refuses to score points on offense. They’ve yet to even have a “breakout” game with all these weapons (including their $250 million quarterback). I don’t see it happening this week, and Russ is too risky to start in fantasy lineups. Russell Wilson is on the bench in Week 13, but don’t worry, Broncos fans, you have seven more years to figure out this offense.
RB Start: Kenneth Walker III @ Rams
Kenneth Walker has been that breakout rookie running back that everyone was looking for, and he is an every-week starter at this point. The Seahawks’ offense has been surprisingly good, and Walker has taken advantage of this much-upgraded offensive line. The Rams could be missing Aaron Donald, and that is going to free up the middle for Walker to explode. Walker is on RB1 status this week.
RB Sit: Kyren Williams vs. Seahawks
There’s a lot of excitement over Kyren Williams. Cam Akers is irrelevant, Darrell Henderson got released, and now it’s Kyren Williams time… maybe? Most likely not. It isn’t a problem with Williams’ talent; it’s a problem with the Rams’ coaching. For one reason or another, the Rams simply don’t know how to use their running backs. Williams did alright last week, but nowhere near what would be worth considering him to start. So keep Kyren Williams on your bench in Week 13.
WR Start: Garrett Wilson @ Vikings
With Mike “Effin” White under center for the Jets, it opened up their passing game the most we have seen all season. I think the Jets continue to open it up against the Vikings, who give up the 28th most fantasy points to wide receivers. Garrett Wilson will benefit from that, as we saw him find the end zone twice last week and clearly be White’s favorite target. Vikings’ CB Andrew Booth Jr. will be out for this game as well, giving the Jets even more of a reason to attack Minnesota through the air.
WR Sit: Adam Thielen vs. Jets
Adam Thielen had a great game last week, but that was his best game in quite some time. The Jets’ defense, specifically their secondary, has been lockdown this season. Justin Jefferson will most likely see Sauce Gardner for most of the game, but D.J. Reed is no easy matchup. The Vikings will likely attack the Jets on the ground, which won’t be helpful for Thielen’s fantasy production. I’ll avoid the risk and keep Adam Thielen on the bench this week.
TE Start: Dalton Schultz vs. Colts
With Dak Prescott back, Dalton Schultz’s fantasy relevance skyrockets. Schultz found the end zone twice last week, and his volume has seen an uptick in recent weeks. He’s a red zone threat, and any player who’s a threat to find the end zone is worth starting, especially at a position with such little overall production. Dalton Schultz should be in your lineups in Week 13.
TE Sit: Hayden Hurst vs. Chiefs
Hayden Hurst has been a solid tight end for the last few weeks in this Bengals’ offense, but Cincinnati is getting more talent back on offense, with Ja’Marr Chase set to return this week against the Chiefs. The volume probably won’t be there for him, and he won’t be worth a start in your lineups. Stray away from Hurst in Week 13.
