“Boop! The Betty Boop Musical,” the new show scheduled for a pre-Broadway tryout in Chicago later this fall, has cast its Betty Boop.

The lead role of the vampish heroine will be played by Jasmine Amy Rogers. Most recently, Rogers has been touring in the “Mean Girls” musical and will make her Broadway debut once the show moves, as expected, to New York.

Here, “Boop! The Betty Boop Musical” is first slated to play from Nov. 19 to Dec. 24 at Broadway in Chicago’s CIBC Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St. The rest of the casting has yet to be announced.

In other theater news, the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire has announced its 2024 season — the planned shows are “In the Heights,” “The Music Man,” “Beehive,” “1776,” and “White Christmas,” the last a show that never misses a holiday season around these parts.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Rosenkranz of the Rhapsody Theater in Rogers Park says he is planning a big fall season of magic shows, including his own “Physician Magician” show on select dates, as well as an October residency from the magician Rob Zabrecky, a November stand by the British magician Andi Gladwin, and a holiday turn from Jamie Allan, otherwise known as the iMagician. Allan, who has performed here before, will offer a new show titled “Amaze.”
