June 1, 1947 Tornado Outbreak

On June 1, 1947 Oklahoma and Arkansas were hit by deadly tornadoes which killed dozens of people, and Democrats were calling people who resisted their communist takeover “fascists.”

witch hunt by un-American committee, which he
describes as ‘‘well-named.” Tells of struggle
against bosses in Idaho to win his election to Senate
as unknown actor.”
