Seven ACC Men's Tennis Teams Earn 2024 NCAA Championship Bids

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Seven Atlantic Coast Conference men's tennis teams earned bids to the 2024 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship, announced by the NCAA Monday night.

Five ACC Teams were seeded in the top 14, the most of any conference, and will act as hosts for the first and second round matches, led by No. 3 Virginia. The Cavaliers are followed by No. 6 Wake Forest, No. 10 Florida State, No. 13 Duke and No. 14 NC State.

Virginia (22-5), making its 19th consecutive NCAA appearance and 24th overall, will host NJIT (19-5) in the first round. Wake Forest (27-6), welcomes South Carolina State (14-7), in its 11th consecutive and 23rd all-time appearance in the championship in the Winston-Salem Regional.

2024 ACC Champion Florida State (21-7) will host an all-Florida regional in Tallahassee, as the Seminoles face North Florida (14-8) in the first round in their 25th appearance in the championship. They will face the winner of the Florida-UCF matchup.

Duke (18-9) will host UNC Asheville (16-7) in the Durham Regional, as the Blue Devils secured their 31st all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament. NC State (17-6) will play host to UNC Wilmington (17-5).

In other first-round matches, Georgia Tech (18-8) faces Middle Tennessee (20-9) in Starkville, Mississippi, in its 21st all-time tournament bid. North Carolina will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, to face Memphis 18-6), in its 10th-straight and 32nd all-time appearance.

First- and second-round competition takes place May 3-4 and features four teams playing in a single-elimination format. The winner of each site advances to super-regional competition May 10 or 11. Each super-regional site will feature two teams playing a single-elimination format. The super-regional winners advance to the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where the eight teams will compete for the national championship May 16-19. The event will be hosted by Oklahoma State University.

The individual championship competitors will be announced in an NCAA.com press release on Tuesday, April 30.
