Fans of World War II first-person shooter games can look forward to checking out the upcoming title UNITED 1944 in two beta weekends scheduled very soon.

Barcelona-based developer Novarama (Invizimals, Killsquad) announced that the action tactical FPS would be playable on PC between May 19-21 via European servers (Frankfurt) and May 26-28 via North American servers (East Coast). In both cases, the servers will be live between 4 and 8 PM local time. Users can play on any server regardless of their location, but the developers recommend trying the game during the most optimal weekend based on server distance. Requesting access is as simple as pressing the button on the Steam page, though selection isn't guaranteed.

In UNITED 1944, matches see two teams of 16 players vying for control of a strategic city. Players are automatically split into squads, and communication, which is facilitated by systems like text chat, VoIP, and ping, is said to be critical to success. While the game is a first-person shooter at its core, there are also scavenging, crafting, and building elements.

Gathering resources will be essential to crafting weapons, gear, and even defensive positions such as walls, barricades, and mines. Building is cooperative and reviving teammates is possible if you have the medicine. The official description also mentions a skill tree featuring over 40 skills to choose from during battles, while permanent progression unlocks cosmetics as player level up their character.

The UNITED 1944 beta includes the North Africa setting, with France and Russia based maps coming later. The selected game mode is Domination, where the ultimate goal is to destroy all enemy bases. A boot camp and shooting range have been confirmed, and there's also a dynamic day and night cycle. Moreover, every building is traversable and verticality plays an important factor due to the inclusion of rooftops and tunnels.

The Steam page also lists the preliminary system requirements:
