BTS returns to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Aug. 28) for a milestone 20th week on top, becoming the first group to reach the mark since the list launched in 2014.

The South Korean septet returns to No. 1 thanks to the continued success of its singles “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.” The former spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 beginning in June, while the latter spent a week at the summit in July.

The coronation is also aided by a pair of albums on the Billboard 200: BTS, The Best and Map of the Soul : 7.

Dating to the Artist 100’s inception, only three acts have spent more time at No. 1 than BTS: Taylor Swift (48 weeks), Drake (32) and The Weeknd (22).

Elsewhere on the Artist 100, Dan + Shay jump from No. 35 to No. 7, reaching the top 10 for the first time as their new LP Good Things arrives at No. 2 on Top Country Albums and No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 33,000 equivalent album units, according to MRC Data.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
