Really? I've had the opposite experience. I own this as well as the D5 - they never get lost and rarely get stuck. In the 6 years I've had them, the most annoying part was the initial setup and firmware updates. Once I got everything connected, I never looked back.
If it gets stuck, you can move it a few inches and it'll reorient itself. Even with that being said, you're not supposed to pick them up and move them once they've started a cleaning cycle, and that's true with pretty much any mapping robot.
Overall, it's a good deal for a mapping robot with plenty of suction and battery life IMO. For this price, I'd easily pick up one of these over the Roborock S4 Max.
I just wanted to chime in that I love my Neato D3. Have had it for years and at this price I would buy another except this thing has been kicking forever. Great product
Same. I've been a Neato owner since first Gen. I always bought an extended warranty and needed it. First 3 models lasted 18-24 months. The new botvac models are much more reliable. They use lithium batteries and have improved the wheel and lidar mechanisms. I've had my current D5 for several years. Just replaced the battery and it's running as good as new.
FYI, aftermarket filters are fine, but the aftermarket brushes are noticeably lower quality.

The mapping in these is trash. Move it even a few inches or a degree off if it gets stuck and it never finds its way home.

The D4 can be had at Bed Bath for $200 with the 20% coupon. If not currently avl just wait. Goes on sale there all the time.
The difference is walmart sells a warranty that seals the deal where as bbb has a possible closed door warranty (as in closing doors forever) that makes it less tempting.

Ours has been running on three different floors a couple times per week since the ebay refurbished deal and it has not had this issue at all, and that's using three different bases which are all under or behind furniture so neato parks completely out of sight. It has become entangled a couple times in cords, a drawstring, and a throw rug, but never lost position after being freed.
As many negative reviews as there are, I'm very satisfied so far. My brother has been using neatos for 7 years and is still highly satisfied overall.
how does it compare to roborock? the mapping on my roborock is awesome but it does have difficulty with even low pile carpets. this is almost half the price i paid for my S4.

I went from an old neato to a new roborock. While the roborock might clean a little better, it is SO much higher maintenance and is almost always stopped somewhere complaining when I get home. Neato is a reliable tank that will always get the job done. The better suction on the roborock doesnt matter when it can't finish the job it started.
