Kody and his four wives — Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn — have been living apart in four separate homes in Flagstaff, Ariz., since the start of the pandemic (Kody and his wives share a total of 18 children).

And while the pandemic, which has only deepened the sense of separation between the unconventional family, proved to be a challenging time for Kody and most of his wives, the separation hasn't really impacted his relationship with Meri. During a confessional, Kody, 52, acknowledged that he barely sees his first wife because he stopped pursuing her a while back.

"There's just been nothing going on between me and Meri," he told the cameras, explaining that she "interacts with the family for the holidays and the birthdays." He added, "We get together once in a while, I see Meri once in a blue moon, but we quit dating and that's just probably because I quit calling her to say, 'Let's go do something.'"

On the other hand, the blonde babe got candid about how lonely she's been in her relationship with Kody during the most recent episode of Sister Wives.

"They say that a person needs four hugs a day just to survive. People probably are not getting four hugs a day right now. I love hugs and touch, from the appropriate person, you know what I mean?" Meri admitted in a confessional. "And when you don't have that, it feels really, really lonely."

Meri confessed that she's "really careful about pushing Kody, because I don't want him to feel like I'm being demanding or pushy or anything like that," before wondering if Kody — who was the only one going back and forth between the sister wives' homes — would stop by her house now since their daughter, Mariah, and her fiancée, Audrey Kris, are staying there to self-isolate.

"He doesn't typically come to my house very often. Maybe now that Mariah and Audrey are here, he might come and visit with them at the end of the two weeks," Meri shared before explaining: "he basically is just going to be going between Janelle and Christine and Robyn, that's typically what he does. Just calling it like it is."

Kody and Meri tied the knot in April 1990 and welcomed Janelle in 1993, followed by Christine in 1994, into their plural marriage. Meri agreed to divorce Kody so he could legally marry Robyn in 2014 — four years after she first joined the Brown family.

Kody and Meri have been together for over two decades, but their relationship has reportedly been strained for years. Meri revealed she had an emotional affair in 2015 with someone who "catfished" her online. The co-parents tried to mend their emotional fallout through therapy; however, Kody admitted that he had no desire to be intimate with Meri three years later.

"Neither of us see real value in the relationship," Kody said speaking on both his and Meri's behalf during a previous episode. "Because if Meri and I really wanted to be together, we would."

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
