Promising TikTok star and executive chef Rochelle Hager has died in a tragic accident in Maine. She was 31.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Hager was on the phone with her fiancé, Brittanie Lynn Ritchie, when a pine-tree branch fell and hit her car during a windstorm that killed her instantly.

“It happened really quick,” Ritchie told Maine’s Morning Sentinel publication. “She has a phone mounted in her vent. I just heard a crash, and then there was nothing. She didn’t see the tree coming. It was instant.”

Hager was the only person in the car at the time of the accident.

A tribute to Hager’s life will be planned in Pittsburgh, Pa. and another maybe in Florida where Hager’s other relatives and friends can attend according to Ritchie.

She was originally from Florida.

Hager grew up in Florida but Ritchie told local news that Hager parents now live in Pittsburgh. The couple moved to Maine in August of last year.

She was engaged.

Hager, who was nicknamed Roe by her fiancé, was set to wed later this year. They even talked about starting a family. “We had picked out a name the night before for a girl,” Ritchie said.

She was sober.

Hager was reportedly 10 years sober from addiction according to local news. She was very proud of this accomplishment. “She was a huge advocate for addiction and she survived it and was clean for over 10 years,” Ritchie said. “When she got through that, she went to culinary school in Florida. She was amazing.”

She had a huge social media following.

Hager went by the handle, @roeurboat3 on TikTok and was often seen making videos with her fiancé. She had over 100,000 followers on TikTok and over 1 million likes on her videos.

She was an executive chef.

Before her social media fame, Hager worked at The Woodlands in Waterville as an executive chef for an independent and assisted living facility. She also previously worked at Amici’s Cucina’s restaurant in Downtown Waterville, ME as a chef.

Owner, Mary Carpinito, told local news" “She was very nice, had a positive attitude, big smile always on her face. When I heard who it was, my heart just stopped. You just never know. She was such a sweet, sweet person.”
