Lil Uzi Vert is preparing to buy a planet. Yes, you read that correctly. Just one day after we’ve started collectively recovering from the billionaire space race, the rapper announced his pending extraterrestrial purchase on social media.

The interplanetary tea was actually spilled first by Grimes, who retweeted an artist’s rendering of the planet in question — WASP-127 b. “This is WASP-127b, a gas giant exoplanet 1.4x larger than Jupiter orbiting a yellow dwarf star (like ours)!” the original space-centric account tweeted, leading Grimes to reply, “Apparently @LILUZIVERT owns this planet – just a heads up.”

The Eternal Atake rapper quickly responded, confirming Grimes’ assertion while noting she had actually beaten him to the punch. “I tried 2 surprise everyone…still working on it,” he wrote along with a string of emojis before adding a thumbs up and a hashtag of Elon Musk’s company Neuralink. (According to its website, Neuralink focuses on “developing ultra high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers.” What precisely that has to do with the purchase of a giant exoplanet remains unclear, though Grimes and Baby Pluto expressed their desire earlier this year to get Neuralink brain chips together.)

Grimes then followed up by tweeting, “Documentation almost complete for @LILUZIVERT to legally claim wasp-127b – this is huge! First human to legally own a planet.”

The rapper’s attempt at buying a planet comes just weeks after removing a diamond worth $24 million that he’d had implanted in his forehead last February. Last month, he also teamed up with Pharrell Williams and Tyler, the Creator on “Juggernaut” off the latter’s new album Call Me If You Get Lost.

Grimes, meanwhile, teased new song “Tragedy” from her upcoming album about a lesbian love affair between two artificial intelligences earlier this week.
