Here's Why People Think Jill Biden's "Love" Blazer Is Shading Melania Trump

By now, we know Jill Biden is a fan of a meaningful sartorial choice, and her latest outfit has people wondering if she was trying to send a message. On June 10, during a meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife, Carrie Johnson, ahead of the 47th G7 summit, the first lady wore a Zadig & Voltaire jacket that read "LOVE" in rhinestone lettering on the back. The blazer, which she styled over a black-and-white polka dot dress from Brandon Maxwell, reminded people of Melania Trump's arguably most infamous outfit.

In case you need a refresher, in June 2018, the former first lady insensitively wore a Zara jacket with the words "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" written in enormous white letters on the back on her surprise trip to Texas visiting facilities that house detained immigrant children. A far cry from that questionable choice, people wondered whether Jill Biden's "LOVE" blazer was throwing shade at Melania's similarly designed jacket.

When asked by Jennifer Jacobs, a White House reporter for Bloomberg News, what the jacket symbolized, the first lady said, "Well, I think that we're bringing love from America." She continued, "I think that this is a global conference, and we're trying to bring unity across the globe, and I think that's important right now, that you have a sense of unity." Jill's message was loud and clear. Ahead, get a closer look at the first lady's embellished jacket.
