Noted security researcher Peiter Zatko joins the social network as head of security.
Mudge has a new job. Twitter has hired Peiter Zatko, better known to the cybersecurity world as "Mudge," as its new head of security. He will report to Jack Dorsey and is expected to conduct a 45- to 60-day review of current technology and practices, followed by new security initiatives.
In an interview given to Reuters, Zatko said the review will cover"information security, site integrity, physical security, platform integrity -- which starts to touch on abuse and manipulation of the platform -- and engineering."
Zatko joins Twitter after stints at Stripe, Google, and DARPA. He is one of the founders of hacker group Cult of the Dead Cow.
