Your animal hospital recs for emergencies

“Pup is great now (it was the little one sick but big brother hasn’t left her side since).”

Melissa asked “Recommendation needed for a DMV animal hospital open on Sunday or for emergencies Monday morning other than Friendship”

Your recs:

“Columbia Pike Animal Hospital in Annandale is 24/7, emergency; been using them for 17 years with 3 pups. They’re great.”

“Blue Pearl in Rockville? There is supposed to be a new one in Georgetown, but I don’t know if it’s open yet”

“I’m not sure how far out in MD but there is an emergency vet called Dogs and Cats in Bowie. We took our Greyhound to then last year and had a good experience. The vet was super nice.

Another vote for these guys. Our regular vet Atlas Vet recommended them for ultrasound. They did our pup’s abdominal surgery after ultrasound showed a squeaky!”

“Blue Pearl in Rockville is open 24/7, have had to use their services in the past. I once went to what is now Dr. Boyd’s in Rockville/North Bethesda, so can’t speak on what they’re like now…but they’re there on Sundays.”

“I saw a new emergency vet clinic-24 h, 2311 M street NW. It just opened. Called vet emergency group 202-946-6469”

“VCA in Gaithersburg has been good in the past, 24hrs too. Pricey but great.”

“Have had good experiences with my pup at both Columbia Pike Animal Hospital in Annandale and VCA Southpaws in Fairfax.”

“Veterinary emergency group on M street went with my friend for her dogs injured paw a few weeks ago they were great”

“Veterinary Emergency Group just opened on M and has great reviews so far, including one from my friend”

“VCA Alexandria was always awesome to my dog and me”

“Southpaws in Fairfax is excellent.”

“Regional Veterinary Referral Center (Springfield Emergency Veterinary Hospital) is very good, emergencies only. On Backlick Road.”

“Dr Boyd’s in Rockville is 24/7 and the best”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
