“At this moment in history, I am very proud to be the first Asian American Chair of the Judiciary - Civil Committee. We find ourselves a profound moment of opportunity to rethink and reshape existing structures to be more equitable, more efficient, and more effective for the people of Illinois.

“As an immigration and human rights attorney, my life’s work has focused on protecting the rights of those whose voices aren’t heard. As Chair of the Judiciary - Civil Committee, I am in a unique position to continue that work.
