Dani Brzozowski, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Illinois 16th district, began a robust socially-distanced park tour Sunday, Aug 23rd at Dekalb’s Katz Park. Speaking to a group of 25 voters wearing masks, Brzozowski addressed concerns including the coronavirus pandemic, corruption in politics, and unemployment.  “Unemployment rates in IL-16 are hovering around 50 percent higher than the national average,” Brzozowski said. “There are places in this district where the unemployment rate is upwards of 30 percent. We need support for people who are unemployed as a direct result of the pandemic, and it’s the responsibility of the federal government to ensure people’s basic needs are met.” Brzozowski has pushed back against corruption and vocalized passing stronger campaign finance laws to restore power to the people and give less influence to corporate PACs and big-money lobbyists.
