I really hope pets are capable of looking out of a window and thinking "oh heck, sure is cold and nasty out there, but it's ok because I am nice and warm and cozy in here where I am so I'm gonna lay here and enjoy the view". I'm pretty sure they are to some extent, but I really hope I'm right.
Our step-cat often sits on our deck chairs at night. When you open the door, he'll usually come in, except when it's really windy and rainy outside. He loves being all snug on one of his chairs, protected under the glass roof, enjoying the view. The fact that he prefers to stay outside when the weather is bad convinces me that he thinks like that.

I’m not sure why, but at the time it was hilarious to my family and me. So this really makes me happy to see that someone else has discovered the greatness that is Spatula!

A friend of mine JJ adopted a cat, formerly named Smokey, but he was renamed Steve. All of his pets got people names. But we also have a friend named Steve. And when friend Steve came over he was like this is really confusing, can we use a nickname or something for the cat? So JJ was like yeah, he basically responds to anything with an S... "Hey Spatula" ... meow. So cat Steve was nicknamed Spatula, and friend Steve is sometimes called Human Steve.

There is nothing in the world (to me) more peaceful and calming than a snowy night.
That said, I’ve never lived in an area where I ever really had to worry if I’d be able to get out my front door in the morning, either.
Honestly happy to be pandemic lockdown working from home, I’m due for 1-2 feet this week.
If you don't have to drive anywhere, it's the best. It can damage property, but that's usually the freeze/thaw cycle that's the thing, not the pretty snow.
There's something inherently, subconsciously calming about how we've made it, as humans. Cold and snow outside, safe and warm inside.
I'm betting that Spatula has no interest in the snowy scene, but that cat bed is right over the radiator.
Snow, jungle, party or cuddle scene. Spatula makes it cozy.
I actually have a cat who loves to look out the window when it snows. Perhaps Spatula is enjoying both!

Wow I named a cat named Spatula, too. It was a cat from my youth that still lives with my mom. The only kitty we ever raised from a kitten and she is 21 now. When she was little she would fetch rubber bands. I hope your kitty lives a nice long life too.
