Agricultural science can now be used as a three year high school science credit to get into Illinois universities.
Ottawa Democrat St. Rep Lance Yednock introduced the legislation in the house.
“Agriculture is a cornerstone of our economy in Illinois and the Midwest and so much of our wealth and jobs rely on agribusiness and many other related industries”, Yednock said
Illinois Universities require 3 years of high school sciences for admission.
The bill doesn’t take effect until January.
