Lori Loughlin's Daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli Admits She's Not 'Proud Of The Past At All' Following College Admissions Scandal

Lori Loughlin's daughter Oliva Jade Giannulli seems to be moving from YouTube to the dance floor!

The 21-year-old was recently announced as part of the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars, and took the opportunity to address the elephant in the room.

During an interview with Extra, the brunette beauty admitted that she is "nervous but excited."

"There was definitely a little bit of hesitation, just because I don’t dance… But I am way more excited than I was hesitant. I’m super grateful that I have this opportunity to even be on this show… I’m thrilled," she explained.

Giannulli added that she hopes her parents can be in the audience and said her mom has been "so supportive." She told interviewer Terri Seymour that her parents are doing good.

"I think this is brave of you to do this, obviously this is going to draw up the whole the saga again people are going to be talking about it. You’ve obviously thought about that…" Seymour commented.

"I think, obviously, this goes without saying, I'm not proud of the past at all. And I think when I first got the opportunity, I definitely thought about it a little bit, just like how would this look and is this something I should be doing, but I also am a firm believer in second chances and redeeming yourself and showing a different side of yourself," Giannulli replied.

"I just feel like a lot of people don't know, a different side of me. I think everybody has an idea of who I am and so hopefully I can show people a new side and hopefully people like it. I totally understand though, like, the backlash or if people are upset, so I can't really convince people, but I'm hoping that my personality, somewhat shines through, and it ends up okay," she added.

Giannulli's parents, Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, served time in prison for their role in the college admission scandal. They were also dished out hefty fines and community service.

The couple was accused of agreeing "to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC," according to court documents.

The influencer appeared on Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris in December. She admitted that "a huge part of having privilege is not knowing you have privilege. So when it was happening, it didn't feel wrong."

"There is no justifying or excusing what happened... I think every single person in my family can be like 'that was messed up. That was a big mistake,'" she explained. "I'm 21, I feel like I deserve a second chance to redeem myself, to show I've grown."

"I didn't come on here to win people over... I just want to apologize for contributing to these social inequalities," she added.

Season 30 of DWTS will kick off on Monday, September 20, on ABC.
