Leave it to the people on the internet to capture something so well. In this case it was this amazing graphic from David Fry that compares HIPAA vs HIPPA to “clear up the confusion.”
Everyone reading this site shouldn’t need the last question, but I’m glad that David included it for those that don’t understand HIPAA and don’t realize that HIPPA doesn’t exist as law.
If you want to really be annoyed by people applying HIPAA incorrectly, go and follow @BadHippa (Yes, it’s spelled incorrectly as part of the joke) on Twitter. Here are a few recent ones to give you a flavor of how badly HIPAA is used.
