"By all accounts," Joshua Green stated, according to Bloomberg, Trump’s post-D.C. life in the panhandle "doesn't resemble that of a typical ex-president so much as a foreign monarch cast into exile — like Napoleon at Elba, but with golf and a bigger buffet."

Trump isn't just residing at his golf resort Mar-a-Lago, he's transformed the exclusive club into the new stomping grounds for the Republican Party, Green wrote. He's also created "his own economy, providing livelihoods for his former aides," who in turn "trumpet his gospel of stolen elections and Democratic conspiracies."

Green continued: "As Comic-Con does for actors past their prime, South Florida offers hardcore Trump fans a way to indulge their nostalgia and fawn over their favorite characters from the extended Trump Universe," including Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto

Trump reportedly thrives on the attention he receives at Mar-a-Lago. “When he enters the dining room, people stand and applaud. When he returns from golf, he's met with squeals and selfie requests. When he leaves Mar-a-Lago, he often encounters flag-waving throngs," Green added.

Green noted that with all the spare time the one-term president has, while at Mar-a-Lago, he will "show up for anything," whether invited or not.

"In recent weeks, Trump has popped into engagement parties and memorial services,” he explained. “A Mar-a-Lago member who recently attended a club gathering for a deceased friend was surprised when Trump sauntered in to deliver remarks and then hung around, apparently enjoying himself."

Trump has made it a habit of turning events at Mar-a-Lago into a spectacle. OK! recently reported that the former president was invited to a wedding reception to toast the happy couple at the resort, but he took the opportunity to air his personal grievances, gripe about his election loss and rail against Joe Biden’s performance as President in his speech.

“Do you miss me yet?” Donald asked the crowd. “Y’know, I just got, I turned off the news, I get all these flash reports, and they’re telling me about the border, they’re telling me about China, they’re telling me about Iran — how’re we doing with Iran, howdya like that?”

A tuxedo-clad Donald then echoed his claims about the 2020 election being rigged against him. “We did get 75 million votes, nobody’s ever gotten that. They said, ‘Get 66 million votes, sir, and the election’s over.’ We got 75 million and they said… ‘but you know, you saw what happened,’ 10:30 in the evening, all of a sudden I said, ‘That’s a strange thing, why are they closing up certain places, right?" he continued.

Donald then briefly toasted the couple — Megan Noderer and John Arrigo, longtime Trump supporters and donors — saying: “It’s an honor to be here, it’s an honor to have you at Mar-a-Lago, you are a great and beautiful couple.”
