Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has revealed that the goal he scored in the 3-1 win over Torino means a lot to him, especially after his lack of goals as of late.

Lautaro provided the assist for the Nerazzurri’s first goal and the Argentine national team striker scored Inter’s third goal, even if his shot was massively helped by a huge deflection.

“I wanted this goal so much, it was a long time since I last scored. We are happy with the win. This goal has an important value to me,” the 22-year-old explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the match at San Siro.

He proceeded to speak on the team’s performance as a whole and shared his delight with the three points earned which have pushed Inter up to second place.

“I am happy that the team has demonstrated its strength. We have lost many points lately despite having done well. Today we played a great game against a very difficult opponent.”

This season the former Racing Club, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, player has made 39 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park, which totals just shy of 3000 minutes, he has scored 18 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
