Not the all time cheapest, loses the title by $1, but still a good price.

Take on the role of former outlaw biker Deacon St. John: a drifter, a bounty hunter, a wandering vestige of humanity. In world devastated by a global pandemic St. John eschews the 'safe' wilderness encampments set up by mankind's last survivors and takes his chances on the broken roads. Set against the scarred, volcanic backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, Days Gone invites you to explore a world ravaged by degenerate human monsters known only as Freakers. Fight your way across the desolate landscape in search of supply, resources and, above all else, a reason to go on.
Features & details
Harsh Open World: Using the power of PlayStation 4 and Unreal Engine 4, Days Gone offers an incredibly realistic and detailed open world experience; But be careful day and night cycles, all affect gameplay and enemy behavior
Brutal Sandbox Combat: Perfect your gameplay with an endless combination of strategy and play in every situation; Craft customized items using pieces and parts found in the field, from brutal melee weapons to traps and more
Compelling Story: At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love and hope; It’s about how hope never dies
Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live

Don't forget this will be free on PS+ in April. Great game!

Save yourself $20 and follow this advice if you can.

  • +4

This has been free for PS5 owners for months, and will be free to all PS+ subscribers in April.

Hey, this might be a silly question, but how do I get this for free as a PS5 owner? I've seen Ratchet and Clank for free in PS Store, but no mention of Days Gone? Or is it only for PSN+?

      • -3

you missed it. it was last month

        • +1

No, it's free for all PS5 owners who have PS+ under the Plus Collection. Nothing to do with monthly free games.

      • -1

It's only for PS+. I hate it how people keep saying stuff is free but then it turns out you need to have a subscription. Not everyone plays online multiplayer games.

        • +2

It's free IF you have PS+. Paying $50 a year to get access to multiplayer games is one thing, but getting nearly 30 games free on PS5 and a bunch of games free each month is also really great. Well worth the $50 a year.

          • @onlinepred: So if I cancel the subscription next year, will I be able to access these free games?

            • @codinghelloworld: I rarely will ever play games more than once.

I pay $50 a year, get a game like odd world next month that I'd pay $50 for and I'm already neutral. Now I've also gotten crash bandicoot 1/2/3, days gone, and many others so I've easily saved myself $200.

So yes, your statement holds but it's only really relevant if you play games once a month. Otherwise it simply is great value.

            • +1

@codinghelloworld: No. You will no longer have access to the PS Plus games if you cancel the subscription. You won't be able to play it. Resubscribe again and yeah you do get access to the game again. Hence you don't really actually own the game from PS Plus.

          • @onlinepred: Or 38$ a year if you buy via US account

        • This. Its very annoying, because its a totally different aspect of ownership. If you subscribe to PSN+ then that's great, but the game is not free, merely the ability to play the game while subscribed is. If you stop that subscription you lose the game. So in effect you're renting the game. The same goes for many subscription services. This price and deal is a post about a discount for a physical copy of a great game, which you will own. Keep it, pass it onto a friend, sell it, use it as drinks coaster, it doesn't matter its yours.

@letmesee: Yep, with subscription services like PS+, you're just renting the game. It's not free at all.

Anyway, back to game itself: Days Gone is fantastic, and I highly recommend it to everyone, especially if you don't particularly like open world games. It has a very slow start, but once you get into the game proper, it is brilliant, and the gameplay loop is very addictive. This is the first game I've platinumed, and it never felt like a chore. For comparison, I never finished Far Cry 5.

          • @letmesee: Yep just like every other subscription service like xbox game pass etc. Main difference is that it's select games that will be available forever on that console, while gamepass will remove and add games to it's service meaning a game you might be playing can be removed and you can't play it again. PS+ you have that game permanently on your account, and can play it if your PS+ is active.
