As many Lagosians struggle to grapple with the newly enforced No Okada/ No Keke ban that recently went into effect February 1, a video showing the Lagos State Governor, Sanwoolu while pitching on ways to improve the transportation system in Lagos State on The Platform recently resurfaced online.
Part of the Governor’s plan as disclosed at the time was to work with branded motorcycles and restructure them in ways in which they could be accountable to the government. The recent ban on all forms of tricycles and motorcycles raised a new level of suspicion as many wonders what became of that plan.
While many say it was all a campaign strategy, others still appreciate the ban on Motorcycles, some simply just want explanations on how the Governor’s campaign plan went from regulation to an outright ban.
Many Lagosians have taken to social media to cry out over the undue level of stress and increased walking distances since the effect of the ban and it is highly anticipated that working days will be more of a menace.
