As he was exiting his press conference on Wednesday, Aug. 12, Gov. JB Pritzker addressed the running mate pick by former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Biden selected California Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Pritzker said he is a fan of Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., who many Illinois lawmakers wanted to see selected as Biden's running mate.

However, the governor said he is pleased with Biden's decision.

"I think she's a terrific choice," Pritzker said. "You know I was a Tammy Duckworth fan and, you know, I think she's wonderful. But Kamala Harris is a great choice for Joe Biden. She'll be a great vice president to the United States."
