While 2022 is starting out as another challenging year for restaurants, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, one of the largest and most successful private restaurant companies in the country which operates more than 40 restaurants under 18 different concepts, ended 2021 by opening two new concepts and three more to open this year.

Prime Social – See the Stars in KC

In November, CMR entered Kansas City with the opening its first Prime Social, a lively rooftop cocktail lounge. Located atop the city’s popular Country Club Plaza’s most recent development, 46 Penn Centre, Prime Social delivers an elevated dining experience with a stunning view of Kansas City.

The Prime Social menu includes signature cocktails like the Ma’Homes – a nod to the city’s star QB; this shareable cocktail features Knob Creek Bourbon, pomegranate, fresh lemon and Champagne ($56); craft beers from local KC breweries; and wines from around the world. Guests can choose from small plate fare, including hand-rolled sushi and A5 Wagyu (the highest grade of the finest beef). Their Reserve Cocktail Cart also passes by throughout the night offering premium selections, prepared tableside, for a touch of luxury.

Ocean Prime KC Set to Open this Winter

On February 8, Prime Social will be joined by CMR’s 17th Ocean Prime location, Ocean Prime Kansas City.  The location will offer the same award-winning service and cuisine as its other locations around the country.  Ocean Prime will be located on the ground level below Prime Social.

Del Mar Naples – Only Two-story Restaurant on Fifth Avenue

In December, CMR expanded its presence in Naples, FL with Del Mar Naples, featuring Mediterranean-inspired coastal cuisine.  Located on the city’s tony Fifth Avenue South, the 9,200-square-foot restaurant features two floors of dining, including patio and balcony seating and two bars. The restaurant also offers private dining in its Capri Room for up to 24 guests.

The made-from-scratch menu rotates seasonally and showcases a variety of seafood accompanied by fresh produce, fresh cheeses, earthy spice blends and homemade pita. Del Mar Naples also offers a handcrafted cocktail menu showcasing refreshing libations that complement the food flavors. Highlights include the shareable Open Fire Roasted Shellfish Platter ($68 for small, $129 large) with lobster, scallops, prawns, clams, mussels and fresh lemon and the Charlie Chaplin with Plantation Pineapple Rum, Orange Brandy and fig.

These three locations are just the start for CMR in 2022.  The company will open a new Italian concept, Valentina’s, in Columbus, OH in fall 2022 and a sister restaurant to their popular oyster bar and bistro The Pearl will open in Tampa’s new Water Street Development later this year.

CMR founder Cameron Mitchell has also announced plans to open at least four additional restaurants in 2023.  A voice for the restaurant industry throughout the pandemic, Cameron Mitchell has sought ways not just to survive these tumultuous times but succeed and thrive through his “yes is the answer” service philosophy, focus on genuine hospitality and care for his associates.
