IT’S THE SECOND PAIRING OF N.C. STATE GRAD CHRISTINA KOCH AND JESSICA MEIR OUTSIDE THE ORBITING LAB. LAST OCTOBER, THEY TEAMED UP FOR THE WORLD’S FIRST SPACEWALKE BY TWO WOMEN. TODAY, THE WOMEN WERE BARELY A HALF HOUR INTO THEIR SPACEWALK WHEN KOCH’S. HELMET CAMERA AND LIGHTS CAME LOOS THE HELMET TROUBLE PUT THEM BEHIND, BUT THEY WERE ABLE TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK TO REPLACE OLD BATTERIES OUTSIDE

Last October, Meir and Koch teamed up for the world's first all-female spacewalk.The two astronauts just started a six-hour marathon spacewalk to install lithium-ion batteries. Koch has a Carolina connection -- she is a graduate or North Carolina State University.
