Barcelona narrowly beat visitors Levante 2-1 in Sunday's Spanish league encounter at the Camp Nou.

The 17-year-old outran Levante's left-back before picking up that pass from his captain and sent it straight into the back of the net through Aitor Fernandez's legs.

Barely two minutes later, the same combination that produced the first goal manufactured the second goal.

Messi held off about three opposition players in the box 18 to create space for his teammates and later found Fati on the left side of the danger zone.

The 32-year-old released the ball once again to the teenager who pushed the ball forward before launching another unstoppable shot to complete his brace in the clash.

Despite doing two goals down just before 35 minutes, the visitors continued to attack the home team with the aim of at least reducing the deficit before half time.

However, it was Barca who almost made it three goals up with Nelson Semedo unleashing a thunderous shot but his effort was denied by the woodworks.

On return to the pitch for the second half of the match, the visitors intensified their efforts in search of their first on the night.
