Large and Medium Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar has said that the Congress is making a hue and cry over the video clip issue as it has no other issue to corner the State government.

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of a function here on Friday, Mr. Shettar said the Congress leaders are known for enacting plays and this is one of their self-composed plays.

“The Congress has already faced humiliation after the Supreme Court refused to consider this tape as evidence in the case pertaining to the disqualification of its MLAs. Now, to get political mileage from this, they are taking a delegation to the President of India.”

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader H.K. Patil stated that Mr. Shettar remarks are irresponsible and claimed that Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa himself has confessed to speaking about the disqualified MLAs.

“Interestingly, the BJP leaders themselves have released this clip. Politics is not only about number game but also of morality. The BJP has lost its morality and cannot give good governance to the people. Bringing down a government which had the people’s mandate is anti-democracy and a high-level investigation should be conducted to bring out the truth,” he said.
