John Kerry, President Biden’s climate czar, is under fire for taking a private jet to Iceland in 2019 to pick up a climate award.

A private jet is, “the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle” was Kerry’s tone deaf response. “I believe the time it takes to get me somewhere, I can’t sail across the ocean. I have to fly to meet with people and get things done…  In the end, if I offset, and contribute my entire life to do this, I’m not going to be put on the defensive.”

I’ve also flown through Iceland on climate business, but I did it packed in the economy section of a jumbo jet with over a hundred other passengers on board, a choice of which Kerry is apparently unaware.

John Kerry is truly the plutocrat’s plutocrat.

John Forbes Kerry was born to wealth, and was the beneficiary of at least four family trusts inherited from his mother’s prominent “Yankee Brahmin” family in Massachusetts.  The family even owns private Naushon Island in Buzzards Bay off the coast of Cape Cod.  Yet Kerry’s inherited wealth was nothing compared to what he attained when he remarried.

John Kerry was suddenly swimming in ketchup.

In 1991, Senator John Heinz, an heir to the Heinz ketchup fortune, died when the private plane he was on collided with a helicopter.  Heinz’s wife Theresa had met Senator John Kerry at an Earth Day rally in 1990, and met Kerry again after Heinz’s death at the UN’s Rio Earth Summit in 1992.  (CFACT was there!).

Kerry married Theresa Heinz in 1995, making him the wealthiest member of the United States Senate, an institution which itself has often been called the “millionaires club.” Together the couple have owned fabulous homes in places like Boston’s Back Bay and the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.  They have enjoyed a fleet of cars, luxury yachts (including the 72 foot “Isabel” Kerry docked in Rhode Island to avoid Massachusetts taxes), and a private Gulfstream jet.

John Kerry leads an out of touch, fantastically high carbon lifestyle, far beyond the dreams of most anyone.  Kerry is not about to start making the lifestyle sacrifices he wants to make mandatory for the rest of us.  Yet this is the man now tasked with telling “someone like” you to tighten your belt and reduce your standard of living in the name of climate.

John Kerry has long been the prince of plutocrats.  Joe Biden appointed Kerry high priest of hypocrites.
