Nedbank Offers Climate Resolutions in First for South Africa

(Bloomberg) —

Nedbank Group Ltd. has become the first South African company to table its own climate-related resolution, Just Share, a shareholder activist group, said.

The bank will table the resolution for voting on by shareholders at its annual general meeting on May 22. The vote will be on adopting a sustainable energy policy and disclosing its climate risks including lending to oil and gas activities by April next year, Just Share said in a statement.
