Kid Rock Caught On Video Using Homophobic Slur During Performance

Kid Rock was caught using a homophobic slur during a performance on Saturday, June 5, in Smithville, Tenn.

In a video posted by TMZ, the 50-year-old appeared to get annoyed when he noticed someone in the audience recording his performance at the FishLipz Bar & Grill.

"F**k your iPhone, yeah!" Rock — who was born Robert Ritchie — said, flipping off the audience member. "Post this," he continued with a lewd gesture before reportedly saying "You f**king f****ts with your iPhones out."

Security was reportedly telling guests to put down their phones before the "American Badass" singer took it into his own hands.

The clip subsequently went viral and Kid Rock was slammed online.

"people still pay money to see kid rock in 2021?" one user asked.

"When I heard Kid Rock made a homophobic comment, I got so mad I drove 12 hours to my parents house, went in the attic, found Kid Rock’s latest cassette, and threw it out," another noted.

Meanwhile, many users were not surprised by the comment. "Kid Rock used a homophobic slur?" one user noted with a GIF reading "*pretends to be shocked.*"

The incident comes after Kid Rock went on a disparaging rant against Oprah Winfrey at his Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in 2019, where he also slammed Joy Behar and Kathie Lee Gifford. In the end, Rock was reportedly escorted off stage.

He reportedly refused to comply with Nashville's COVID-19 restrictions which would have saw his bar closed at the start of the pandemic — but he later complied, Yahoo! Entertainment noted.

Kid Rock has been vocal in his support of former President Donald Trump. The "Only God Knows Why" singer is said to be conservative and a Republican, but previously admitted he holds more liberal views on topics such as same-sex marriage, the Independent reported.

Kid Rock has not yet publicly commented on the incident.
