In celebration of the first John Giorno Poetry Day on 19 September, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Geneva, the MAMCO and Centre Pompidou are copresenting 7 Pieces For John Giorno. Inspired by the work of the New York activist, poet and performance artist who died last year, this new multimedia project consists of video pieces by Laurie Anderson and Thurston Moore, as well as five specially commissioned audio compositions by Kassel Jaeger, Felicia Atkinson, Bendik Giske, Angel Bat Dawid and Lucy Railton, which are available to hear for the first time here.
The tribute in its entirety will be available to watch and listen on 19 September via Centre d’Art Contemporain de Genève’s digital platform 5th Floor and streamed live at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
