Minister for Endowments and in-charge of Vizianagaram district Velampalli Srinivasa Rao on Friday expressed serious concern over the lack of coordination among Agriculture, Revenue and other departments in the implementation of the YSRCP government’s flagship programme Rythu Bharosa.
He said it had led to denial of the ₹13,500 cash incentive to 80,000 farmers in the district. He asked them to sort out all the issues such as Aadhaar seeding, updating of new owners and legal heirs of lands concerned.
Along with Deputy Chief Minister Pamula Pushpa Srivani and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana, he reviewed the developmental activities in the district.
During the discussion, he expressed his displeasure several times over the lack of coordination at ground level.
“Only 2 lakh families have been identified for the benefit of Rythu Bharosa scheme. More than 80,000 farmers are desperately going around offices due to the delay in updating of their details. The officials should clear all the petitions on top priority basis,” he added.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao asked the Panchayatraj, Rural Water Supply and other officials to wok in tandem for the effective implementation of household water connection scheme which was planned with ₹2,500 crore.
He pointed out that the officials were not conducting any combined review meeting over the issue although the departments were supposed to exchange their ideas and views over the programme.

The R and B officials had assured the Minister of improving the road network on Vizianagaram-Parvatipuram
-Rayagadh route.
Several public representatives had complained that the R and B department had never responded properly although the road had been in a bad shape for many years.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao asked the officials to submit a detailed report over the road network on important routes. Mr. Satyanarayana asked the Agriculture department to identify new storage points since a good crop was expected this year with the bountiful rains in the last couple of months.
Collector M. Hari Jawaharlal said the services of village secretariats would be utilised for effective implementation of schemes at ground level.
