Respected journalist Mario Sconcerti has dedicated his column in Corriere della Sera toward looking at Inter’s 1-1 draw against Slavia Prague in the Champions League last night.

“Personally I do not see traces of how Conte wants to pass the ball. Inter lost their way in the soft, scholastic and almost calligraphic web of Slavia Prague without ever changing their approach and without an attempt to break through the lines as if football was a purely geometric operation,” he wrote.

“Conte’s choices are not in question, they count for little. Inter were missing instinct. The elementary and clear order of Slavia Prague was enough for Inter to lose control on the pitch. Slavia have done well to get a draw, at European level they are a firm opponent.

“Conte seems to be looking for controversy everywhere but like Maurizio Sarri, he cannot make a serious and personal mark on the match. In fact, they make the exact same mistake.”
