Can Pakistan play 'visa card' to deny permission to DSGMC's nagar kirtan

Can Pakistan play 'visa card' to deny permission to DSGMC's nagar kirtan
AMRITSAR: Can Pakistan deny visa to Delhi Sikh gurdwara management (DSGMC) committee's 'sangat' that is scheduled to take 'nagar kirtan' to Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib on October 13.
According to highly placed sources there was a possibility of Pakistan high commission denying visa to DSGMC's sangat since the Pakistan Sikh gurdwara parbandhak committee (PSGPC) has already expressed its inability to welcome two nagar kirtan's.

SAD (D) led by Paramjit Singh Sarna is also scheduled to take nagar kirtan to Pakistan on October 28.
PSGPC president Satwant Singh said that Sarna had applied for permission of bringing nagar kirtan to Pakistan much before DSGMC planned its nagar kirtan so they were prepared to receive Sarna's nagar kirtan .
In the recent past Sarna had also stated that only SAD (D) had the permission to bring nagar kirtan to Gurdwara Nankana Sahib.
Sources informed that Pakistan could refuse visa's to DSGMC's sangat or some or other issue to diffuse the situation.
When contacted DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa said "Let PSGPC say whatever they want, the Indian government has a bilateral agreement with Pakistan and they can't violate it."

He questioned "Will they issues visas to persons recommended by an apex body or to a political party."
Sirsa alleged that Pakistan facilitated the persons who create division among Sikhs and they could play any game to further their agenda.
DSGMC president said that they had already applied for visa's and had received the acknowledgement.
He reiterated that DSGMC had received permission from various departments of government which were not with Sarna .
Despite both DSGMC and SAD (D) at loggerheads over nagar kirtan issue, the sources didn't rule out a last minute truce between the two bodies led by political opponents.
"Any controversy or disagreement on a religious issue that too on the pious occasion of 550 birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev will only bring embarrassment to the community and we are trying to diffuse the situation, let's hope, wait and watch," said a senior Sikh leader who didn't wish to give his name.
